Times they are a changin'Posted by BlasphemyyOctober 26, 2009 at 3:23 amAs everyone by now is probably aware, Jinsaku has stepped down as Guild Leader of Versus the World. The officer core is remaining committed towards this guild and our future raid potential. However, due to recent occurrences, we have to make some temporary changes in order to deal with our current situation: · Ten-man content is now official raid content and is not PUGable until Thursday · 25-Man content is our goal for Tuesday night and so is not puggable until Wednesday Our intentions are to field the largest raid-force that we are capable of on any given night. What this means is that if 20 people show up to raid, we will field two 10-mans (class balance permitting), if we have 25 players we will field a 25-man, and if we have less than 19 people we will field only one 10-man selecting the raid-force as fairly as possible, based on individuals need for gear, willingness to sit out, and frequency of being side-lined. (People who need gear more may be prioritized, so that our raid-force will be more effective.) Furthermore, with Jinsaku no longer as leader, the Officer core has decided to lead fully by committee. No officer will be higher than any other, and the actual title of “Guild Leader” will be handed off between officers throughout the week. I feel the need to stress, again, that any decision that can be made by one officer can be made by any officer, and any major decisions will be decided on by the committee of Officers. We have also decided to make the following changes to the standards and practices of the guild: · All restrictions on alts have been removed from the Guild, all we ask is that if you have an alt that you are not planning on playing in the near future, please have them removed from the guild (Let’s not get too crazy). · Although raiders still have priority for raid spots, members will now receive invites to accept or decline given their availability to fill the raid force. These changes are permanent changes to guild policy. We have also opened recruitment wide open. As a guild we are still committed to returning to 25-man as soon as possible. Our current objective is to ready our raid force for 25-man Ice Crown, and it is our hope that these changes will facilitate that objective. As always, the officers are willing to accept any feedback (positive or negative), criticism, or suggestions through private message, whisper, or anonymous feedback form. We thank you all for your patience and understanding, and I look forward to seeing you all on the battlefield. - Blasphemyy Main Tank and Officer for Versus the World The Anonymous Feedback FormPosted by BlasphemyyOctober 6, 2009 at 3:51 pm
In an effort to remain connected to the heartbeat of the guild we have decided to bring back the anonymous feedback email address.
All you have to do is go to the Other tab and click Anon Feedback to go to the page to submit your gripes, concerns, praises and suggestions to the officers.
We guarantee everything in it is 100% anonymous so no repercussions will be taken on any individuals do to the feedback given.
However, that said, this is another of those "Can we have nice things" scenarios. If people abuse the system and gunk up our feedback you will be effectively removing a safe and convenient system of communication (because we will shut it down). Please be respectful and constructive whenever possible. Although we understand it's good to just vent some times.
Some Raid ReformsPosted by JinsakuOctober 2, 2009 at 12:56 am
Hey everyone,
In order to make Ulduar more fun and interesting, and because there simply isn't enough 25 man content to fill even two raid days, we've made some minor raid reforms: Tuesday: (In this order) Onyxia's Lair, 25 Man ToC, 25 Man ToC Hard modes Thursday: Ulduar 25 We are removing the mains only restriction for Ulduar 25. People are allowed to bring sufficiently geared alts. Please register your alt(s) you'd like to bring to Thursday raids in this thread, and we'll get those alt(s) invited to the Thursday raids. Also, please congratulate Blackoak, our newest officer! Happy 3.2.2!Posted by JinsakuSeptember 22, 2009 at 1:28 pm
Happy 3.2.2 everybody! The patch went live this morning. Please take a look at the patch notes here. Lots of fun class changes (go Mages!)
Onyxia is now live and added to our progression content and will be downed each week. Extra triumph badges, more 245 loots! (UPDATE: Well, that was easy. Onyxia one-shot on both 10 and 25, and there's no hard mode. Having her be tauntable makes the fight trivial and a big lootpinata.) Below is a video of the mount that Phusion will no doubt win the roll on. Vintage Raid Nights are Back!Posted by JinsakuSeptember 19, 2009 at 11:02 pm
Jinsaku wants to see BC content. Jinsaku is bringing back Legacy Raid night.
Starting September 28th (Monday), I'm going to organize a legacy raid night once every 2 weeks on Monday nights. They will be on the calendar. All mains are invited, but feel free to bring any alt that can run it. The goal of this is to see all the old content that many of us never saw. Or experience old content in another role that you haven't experienced. Should be fun. Everyone is invited! Check the calendar for the invites! September 28th: Gruul's Lair, Magtheridon's Keep October 12th: Serpentshrine Cavern October 26th: Tempest Keep November 9th: Mount Hyjal November 23th: Black Temple December 7th: Sunwell Plateau VTW raids need your help!Posted by KalderelSeptember 17, 2009 at 10:03 pm
(MINOR UPDATE BELOW in red)
VTWites, In the process of ensuring an ample raider population and preparing ourselves for progressing into Trial of the Grand Crusader, we have encountered several stumbling blocks. Firstly, we are in dire need of a third tank for Trial of the Grand Crusader (particularly for the first boss, the Northrend Beasts). While recruitment for this position is still open, we've had little luck in finding a properly geared and skilled player capable of filling this role. Because of this, the leadership is now turning to the raiderbase for help; we're looking for an individual who can make all our raid times to main swap to a Warrior, Druid, or Death Knight and become our third tank. Paladin tanks are fortunately covered by Blasphemyy and Euthanasia, and we're looking to diversify our tank core. If you're willing to main swap or change your role in raids to a main spec tank / offspec DPS (or healing, in the case of druids), please contact any of the officers in-game or through Private Messages on the forums. We're willing to gear up tank characters, but to do so will take enough time that this should not be undertaken lightly. Secondly, the officers are doing their utmost to ensure that we are providing the content and planning for at least two nights of raid content. While we understand that Ulduar isn't the most exciting content after we spent time completing it, providing supplementary gear to boost progression and gear critical members (such as the third tank we're currently searching for) is crucial to our continued success. Cancelled raids are always something the officers regret to see happen, and we are working on rectifying this issue. More to come on this topic in the coming days. (UPDATE by Jinsaku: The officers have determined that because Ulduar is previous content, players will not have to suicide for any gear below 239 level. This includes any Ulduar non-hardmode gear. We will be using a main role/off role roll system for these drops.) As always, questions or concerns may be addressed in-game or through PMs to the officers. We value your input as we move closer and closer to the Trial of the Grand Crusader and Icecrown Citadel in the not-too-distant future. Raid Schedule ChangePosted by JinsakuSeptember 6, 2009 at 11:00 pm
We're received feedback over the last week from most of the raid force in this thread. Based on this feedback, and the level of our content, we're making some changes to the raid schedule.
We didn't expect 25 Man ToC to be as easy as it is (we're expecting to clear it in 1.5-2.5 hours every week now), but our gear level puts us at least 4-6 weeks away from 25 Man Heroic ToC. We understand that not as many people are interested in Ulduar anymore, even trying to unlock Algalon and doing Ulduar hardmodes. We didn't think it was fair to spend 2 1/2 raid days a week on older content simply to unlock a new boss and get a few extra gear upgrades. With those things in mind, we've decided to go down to 2 official raid days for the time being. We will add back a 3rd raid day each week once we achieve the gear level to start working on 25 Man ToC hard modes. Also, based on the results of the thread above, the new raid days are Tuesday and Thursday at 8PM. Once we add that third raid day back, it will be Wednesday. We understand that 3 raid days in a row isn't ideal, but too many people couldn't make any days between Friday and Monday. For this week, the raid week starting September 8th, we are implementing the 2 raid days, but the Tuesday/Wednesday schedule will not change as it's too short of notice. However, we will be dropping Friday for this week. As of September 15th, we will be going to the new raid schedule. So, to clarify, this coming week's raid days at 9/8 (Tuesday), and 9/9 (Wednesday), and starting next week, the raid days will be Tuesday (9/15) and Thursday (9/17) and repeating that schedule each week until the officers determine we can start working on hard modes. For now, we'll be farming 25 Man ToC, theorycrafting, working on our gear and skill, and readying ourselves to start working on 25 Man ToC hardmode over this next month! Thanks, and good luck to the raid force in gearing up to take down this hard content before Icecrown Citadel appears! | ||
